Service Description

2. At home sleep study, also known as HSAT is a simple and convenient diagnostic test that allows patients to monitor sleep and breathing overnight while sleeping in the comfort of their own bed. The test involves wearing a small portable device that records breathing patterns, oxygen levels, heart rate, total sleep time and respiratory effort. These measurements help identify signs of sleep-disordered breathing, including pauses in breathing (apnea) or shallow breathing (hypopnea), which are common in conditions like obstructive sleep apnea. After your initial consultation, if a home sleep study is recommended, you will be provided with the testing equipment along with a simple tutorial on how to use it. The test is typically conducted over one to three nights in the comfort of your own home. Once the monitoring is complete, a board-certified sleep physician will interpret the results and provide an accurate diagnosis, along with personalized recommendations for treatment.
